Function and Responsibilities:

Technical assistant in the working group 4.3.2 - Experimental Reservoir Physics.

Technician responsible for distributed fibre optic measurement systems such as Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS), Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) and Distributed Strain Sensing (DSS) as well as fibre optic point sensors (FBG, Fabry-Perot):

  •     Installation of fibre optic cables in research boreholes
  •     Measurement data acquisition (DTS, DAS) for well completions (e.g. cementation, gravel packing) and test work (e.g. push-pull tests, flow tests)
  •     Measurement of rock deformation and failure in triaxial tests using distributed strain sensing (DSS)

Pore space analysis using He pycnometry (measurement of the matrix volume of rocks) and mercury porosimetry (measurement of the pore radius distribution, pore volume and specific pore surface area of rocks).

Training of physics laboratory technicians
