Welcome Dr Sreenidhi Kuruvamana Satheeshbabu in our section!
Sreenidhi is a Postdoctoral Fellow (Alexander von Humboldt Post-doctoral Fellow) at GFZ Helmholtz Centre for Geosciences. Her research interests lie in geodynamics of extensional tectonic settings and plume–lithosphere interactions.
She completed her PhD through a joint programme between the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India, and Monash University, Australia. She subsequently carried out postdoctoral research at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and worked as a Project Scientist at the National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research, India.
At GFZ, her current research focuses on constraining and testing lateral plume flow and rift propagation in the Afar region using numerical geodynamic modelling.
