We are delighted to welcome Samantak Kundu to our section!

Samantak will start as a Ph.D. student with a DAAD scholarship program in our section. He obtained his Bachelors and Master’s degrees in Physics from St. Xavier’s College Kolkata, India. At GFZ, he is working on the TALECH project (Tectonic Accretion, Landscape Evolution and Climate in the Himalaya), investigating how tectonic accretion influences the link between topography and orographic precipitation, and its role in the lateral growth of Himalayan topography over geological timescales.
