The Mobile Drilling Information System (mDIS) is a database management application for capturing and managing metadata related to geological cores, samples, drilling progress, and lithology. Additionally, images, borehole survey data, and drilling reports can be recorded. Data reports and sample labels facilitate curation and archiving of the samples. mDIS and its predecessor DIS (Drilling Information System) have been used by the International Continental Scientific Drilling Program (ICDP) for nearly three decades and in over 60 projects worldwide.
