Research theme: Organic-inorganic interactions at high temperatures

Summary:
In-situ visual experiments and isotope-tagged thermal experiments are conducted to decipher the physicochemical processes behind organic-inorganic interactions at high temperatures. Basic processes initiating and driving such interactions between organic and inorganic species shall be unravelled as they control the coupled fate and behaviour of hydrocarbons, water, minerals, CO2, and H2. A focus shall be on isotope-tagged experiments to investigate the H/O mass transfer among different species of alkanes, water, minerals and CO2 in different hydrous n-eicosane-water-feldspar systems.
