Research Interests:

  • Earthquake nucleation, propagation, and arrest.
  • Seismicity clustering: Foreshocks, aftershocks, swarm-like and burst-like sequences, and their driving mechanisms.
  • Similarities and contrasts between natural earthquakes and laboratory earthquakes.
  • Seismic hazard, with emphasis on source and site effects.

Education:

Since 2023:  PhD student in Section 4.2 Geomechanics and Scientific Drilling (GFZ Potsdam).

2024: MSc. in Geophysics (University of Concepción, Chile).

2021: Professional Certification in Geophysics (University of Concepción, Chile).

2018: BSc. in Geophysics (University of Concepción, Chile).


Projects:

2023-2026: PhD researcher within ERC project QUAKEHUNTER: Real-time monitoring of earthquake nucleation for faults near urban areas.

2022-2024: Master student within FONDEF Grant ID16I20157: Evaluation of Soil Liquefaction Potential in Subduction Zones.
