INFO STAND
The general information stand is the central starting point for the tour on our Open Campus Day. Here you can pick up general information, a site map and the full programme. It also serves as the meeting point for the guided tours. For anyone who’d like to get involved, this is where the research rally begins: by solving the tasks at the various stations, you’ll make progress on your solution booklet, and a little surprise awaits you at the end of the stand. A warm welcome to the Open Campus Day!

A tour of the German Weather Service’s measurement site
GUIDED TOUR, INFO STAND
A weather and climate station has been in operation on the Telegrafenberg in Potsdam since 1893. It provides the longest continuous series of climate measurements in Germany. In addition to standard measurements such as temperature and air pressure, numerous other measurements are carried out at the site, including, since 1965, measurements of radioactivity.
A climate timeline is on display next to the measuring field. It illustrates 250 years of climate history and trends: from 1850 to 2100. Alongside historical measurement data, the timeline also presents scenarios for possible future climate developments.

HANDS-ON ACTIVITY, INFO STAND
The DVW Berlin-Brandenburg e.V. (the Society for Geodesy, Geoinformation and Land Management) invites you to get involved. There’s plenty to enjoy for young and old alike. Together with the LGB (Brandenburg State Surveying and Geobasis Information), visitors can explore curious place names on the map of Brandenburg, whilst beanbags invite you to relax and do a jigsaw, and you can have fun finding answers to all sorts of questions about our planet as a workplace. You’re in for a treat!
