The summit of the Nesthorn in the canton of Valais, Switzerland, shifted several meters within a few days at the end of May 2025. Up to 6 million cubic meters of material are unstable. The village of Blatten, located in the valley below the summit, was subsequently evacuated. In an interview, Jens Turowski discusses the event, how landslides occur, and the connection to climate change.
