Life on Earth depends on fresh water resources, but we still lack knowledge of the spatial and temporal dynamics of surface freshwater storages, specifically in remote regions. SAR imagery enables a weather-independent monitoring of water bodies and provides important information about the dynamics of the freshwater storages.
