Xelerate Software Package

Xelerate is a software package to visualise, explore and calibrate element intensity data obtained by XRF cores scanning. The Xelerate software provides statistical analyses of after log-ratio transformation, as described in Weltje et al. und Tjallingii et al. (2008) and Weltje et al. (2015). Please acknowledge our work when applying this software by citing us!

Key features

  • Calibration sample selection
  • Log-ratio calibration (Uni- & Multivariate)
  • Sediment characterisation by unsupervised statistical clustering
  • Visualising element correlations and data distributions using PCA
  • Down-core plotting of elements, element ratios, and calibrated results next to core images
  • Data scaling and visualisation of confidence limits using replicate measurements

Requirements

  • Fixed XRF core scanning data formatting (Avaatech, COX Itrax, or plain text)
  • Xelerate runs as a MATLAB stand-alone that can only be used after installation of the Matlab Component Runtime (MCRinstaller). Installing MATLAB itself is not required
  • Xelerate is a PC based application (*.exe) and runs best on PC’s with an Intel processor
  • Read the manual for more detailed information on data formatting and installation

New complication that is also compatible for PC’s (64-bit) with AMD processors as well (previously only compatible with Intel)

Compilation compatible for PC’s (64-bit) with Intel processors. One application for all input formata of the data (Avaatech, COX Itrax, plain) that can be selected in the settings menu.

Compilation compatible for PC’s (64-bit) with Intel processors and several bug fixes cumulated into version v2.5.

Version 1 of the Xelerate software is available on demand for Windows 32-bit and 64-bit systems.
