The ‘Hardware-Team’ has expertise in the electronic and mechanical development and maintenance of equipment, measuring stands, sensors, gauging and data communication systems, as well as field and laboratory work. For this purpose, section 2.1 has a special equipment pool with seismic, optical and hydrological sensors that work with a variety of modern data acquisition and communication systems. We create solutions for power supply and online connection of measuring stations under difficult conditions or expand the usability of drones and sensor platforms for special applications.

Equipment for field work on volcanoes

Remote sensing observations on volcanoes are supplemented by ground stations and field operations. We use them to examine fracture zones, ground movements and thermal anomalies on volcanoes – important data that is ultimately incorporated into models.
