Field Laboratory of Department 1 in Building A 20

The field laboratory of Department 1 represents the interface between geoscience concepts and constructive engineering, mechanical engineering, and electronics, supporting their implementation through to functional field deployment. These include measurement systems/measurement vehicles, antennas, and data loggers for land, air, and water use. Their deployment is preceded by tests under realistic high- and low-temperature conditions in the field laboratory. We also support the operation and further development of the Satellite Laser Ranging Station in Potsdam and the satellite receiving station in Ny-Ålesund on Spitsbergen.

Equipment: CAD, 5-axis milling machine, 3D printer, laser cutting system, electronics laboratory up to 20 GHz, soldering oven, temperature test cabinet, measuring field on roof
