Funktion und Aufgaben:
I am an IT System Administrator and Systems Engineer in Section 4.5 – Subsurface Modelling at GFZ Potsdam. In this role, I am responsible for:
- Configuring and managing Linux-based infrastructure, including file servers and GitLab runners, to support automated workflows and distributed computation
- Designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines in GitLab to automate the testing of scientific workflows, improving reproducibility and system validation efficiency
- Contributing to software development and technical documentation
- Preparing and submitting research proposals for funding, and publishing scientific papers in peer-reviewed venues
Wissenschaftliche Interessen:
I have over ten years of experience in both research and practice in software engineering and distributed systems. My academic work has focused on designing and implementing algorithms for optimization problems in cloud computing environments.
My general research interests include:
- Distributed systems, including Edge–cloud computing and HPC
- Task scheduling and scientific workflow scheduling
- Optimization and mathematical programming models
- Machine learning and reinforcement learning
