Funktion und Aufgaben:
I am a PhD candidate in Section 2.3: Geomagnetism at GFZ, working on geomagnetic excursions and polarity reversals. My research is conducted within the framework of the ERC Synergy Grant
GERACLE which investigates how past geomagnetic reversals and polarity excursions, as well as potential future field changes, may affect the Earth's environment and living conditions. My work focuses on sampling archive sediment cores and conducting paleomagnetic measurements to reconstruct past geomagnetic field behavior. I also evaluate the quality and reliability of both existing and newly acquired datasets. In addition, I perform inverse modeling to better constrain the timing, structure, and dynamics of geomagnetic excursions and reversals.
